The Faculty of Education at Al-Madinah International University Organizes a Scientific Lecture Entitled: “Formulating the Research Problem”

As part of its commitment to supporting scientific research and developing researchers’ skills at various academic levels, the Faculty of Education at Al-Madinah International University, Malaysia, under the gracious patronage of the Honorable President of Al-Madinah International University, Prof. Dr. Eng. Ammar Batheesh, organized the 13th scientific lecture entitled Formulating the Research Problem”. The lecture was held on Sunday, 28 December 2025, at 3:00 PM (Makkah Time) via the Zoom platform, and was delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Yasmin Shafie.

The lecture aimed to raise students’ awareness of the principles of formulating a research problem, which serves as the cornerstone of any sound scientific research, and to highlight its academic importance as well as the methodological standards governing it, thereby contributing to enhancing the quality of university-level research.

🎯 General Objective of the Lecture:

To enable undergraduate and postgraduate students to understand the nature of a research problem and formulate it scientifically in a way that supports the quality and credibility of the research.

By the end of the lecture, participants will be able to:

  1. Understand the concept of a research problem in scientific research.
  2. Recognize the academic importance of the research problem and its role in guiding the study.
  3. Identify the scientific criteria and standards for formulating a research problem.
  4. Understand the most common mistakes in formulating a research problem and how to avoid them.
